The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Manager, Business Attraction and Investment, the Specialist Physician Recruitment & Community Integration is responsible for providing administrative and marketing support for the objective of recruitment support to physicians, healthcare professionals and other partner organizations considering the Town of Caledon as a potential place to live and work. The Specialist, Physician Recruitment and Community Integration will work closely with the Economic Development Officer, Physician Recruitment and Retention to support the creation and implementation of the Physician Recruitment Strategy, as well as administer the physician recruitment program. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and a functional understanding of the Ontario healthcare system, The Specialist is relationship‑driven, detail‑oriented and committed to a holistic, proactive and personalized approach to supporting new physicians and their families integrate with the Caledon community. The role ensures the placement of highly qualified medical professionals in family practice settings within the Town of Caledon to address the current and future health care needs of Caledon’s residents. The Officer will provide support for the creation and implementation of Caledon’s Physician Recruitment Strategy.

As the Specialist, Physician Recruitment & Community Integration, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

Functional Responsibilities:

- Support the development of an integrated, community‑led talent attraction strategy to provide a favourable environment for the family physicians, with a special focus on building a pipeline with early engagement.

- Provide support with various activities such as physician sourcing, communication, outreach and onboarding to the Physician Recruitment program.

- Lead successful community integration for physicians within the program by creating a resource package for new physicians, which includes support with family settlement, connections to local employment, educational institutions, housing, community services and initiatives in partnership with local organizations.

- Communicate, liaise and develop and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to promote recruitment activities, especially Town staff, Office of Mayor & Council, residents, physicians, partner organizations, regional and provincial health authorities. Receive, prioritize, and follow up on inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

- Coordination of a grants and incentives program, promoting shared investment in patient rostering, medical office improvements.

- Research and develop alternate revenue generating and/or funding opportunities relative to projects and initiatives

- Maintain a broad understand of all functional areas across the corporation to ensure meaningful and constructive support

- Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an experienced professional with a post‑secondary education in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Political Science or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of two (2) years related experience in human resources, communications, economic development or community engagement.

Previous experience coordinating recruitment of healthcare professionals and/or working with family medicine education programs and/or directly with physicians, or at least a working knowledge of a physician’s career cycle and Ontario College of Family Physicians registration requirements is an asset.

We are seeking an individual with strong interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders including council, residents, vendors, staff, municipal management as well as external government organizations i.e. Regional, Federal & Provincial partners. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal, written communication, as well as public speaking skills with the ability to handle significant contacts with long‑term impacts.

The successful candidate for Specialist, Physician Recruitment Community Integration will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).

This position offers a salary range of $78,683.40 - $98,354.25 plus a competitive benefit package.
