Job Title: Construction Project Manager – Retail Construction
Job Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager for coast-to-coast retail construction projects. You'll oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution while ensuring quality and efficiency. Bilingual in English and French, you'll manage subcontractors, track costs, and coordinate with stakeholders for seamless project delivery. Responsibilities
Project Planning:
- Review project quotations, plans, and requirements for timelines, budgets, construction schedules, and staffing needs.
Construction Oversight:
- Lead and maintain ongoing communication with the site supervisor to ensure construction progresses according to defined objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Manage and monitor checklists, supply lists, delivery dates, and other critical project elements.
Financial Management:
- Ensure precise and timely management of project expenses, billings, change orders, and other construction costs.
- Maintain and update a cost-tracking database for all new construction projects.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Review construction documents and shop drawings to ensure they align with company standards.
- Manage and coordinate contract assignments, ensuring subcontractors have up-to-date project documents.
Bidding and Contracts:
- Assist the Estimation team in creating bid packages and communicating with bidders. Qualify bids and negotiate contracts with sub-contractors.
Process Management:
- Update and oversee all project processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to timelines.
Change Management:
- Coordinate and communicate construction and equipment changes required for cost, code, or clarification purposes.
- Negotiate and approve change orders as necessary.
Project Turnover:
- Manage project turnover to final setup teams, including orientation walkthroughs with all stakeholders.
- Coordinate approvals with landlords and city authorities.
Confidentiality:
- Maintain discretion with all sensitive and confidential company and customer information.
Other Duties:
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Production Department Team Leader.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Canadian retail project management (required).
- Language: Bilingual in English and French (required).
Other Position Related Qualifications
- 7-10 years of construction experience.
- 5 years minimum in retail or national specialty retail or comparable construction.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once.
- Able to work under pressure, deadlines, and the demands of constant change.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications as well as other specific project management software (Procore, etc.).

Responsabilités principales
Planification de projet:
- Examiner les devis, plans et exigences des projets pour établir les délais, le budget, les calendriers de construction et les besoins en personnel.
Supervision de la construction:
- Diriger et maintenir une communication continue avec le superviseur de chantier pour garantir que les travaux avancent conformément aux objectifs, budgets et échéances définis.
- Gérer et suivre les listes de contrôle, les listes de fournitures, les dates de livraison et d'autres éléments critiques des projets.
Gestion financière:
- Assurer une gestion précise et ponctuelle des dépenses du projet, des facturations, des ordres de modification et d'autres coûts de construction.
- Maintenir et mettre à jour une base de données de suivi des coûts pour tous les nouveaux projets de construction.
Documentation et conformité:
- Examiner les documents de construction et les dessins d'atelier pour garantir leur conformité aux normes de l'entreprise.
- Gérer et coordonner les affectations de contrats, en veillant à ce que les sous-traitants disposent des documents de projet actualisés.
Soumissions et contrats:
- Aider l'équipe d'estimation à créer des dossiers d'appel d'offres et à communiquer avec les soumissionnaires.
- Qualifier les offres et négocier les contrats avec les sous-traitants.
Gestion des processus:
- Mettre à jour et superviser tous les processus de projet pour garantir l'efficacité et le respect des délais.
Gestion des modifications:
- Coordonner et communiquer les modifications de construction et d'équipement nécessaires en termes de coût, de conformité ou de clarification.
- Négocier et approuver les ordres de modification si nécessaire.
Finalisation des projets:
- Gérer le transfert des projets aux équipes de configuration finale, y compris les visites d'orientation avec toutes les parties prenantes.
- Coordonner les approbations avec les propriétaires et les autorités municipales.
Confidentialité:
- Maintenir la discrétion concernant toutes les informations sensibles et confidentielles de l'entreprise et des clients.
Autres tâches:
- Effectuer les tâches assignées par le chef d'équipe du département de production.
Qualifications
- Expérience: Minimum de 5 ans dans la gestion de projets de commerce de détail au Canada (exigé).
- Langue: Bilingue en anglais et en français (exigé).
Autres qualifications liées au poste
- 7 à 10 ans d'expérience dans la construction.
- Minimum 5 ans dans la construction de commerces de détail ou commerces spécialisés nationaux, ou une expérience comparable.
- Excellentes compétences en gestion du temps et en organisation, avec la capacité de gérer plusieurs projets simultanément.
- Capacité à travailler sous pression, avec des échéances serrées et dans un contexte de changements constants.
- Solides compétences en informatique dans les applications Microsoft Office et d'autres logiciels spécifiques de gestion de projet (Procore, etc.).
