A private company in the region is looking for a Financial Controller.

Summary

This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and collaborates with the entire administrative team to ensure proper financial management of the company.

Responsibilities

- Manage the accounting cycle:

- Accounts Payable: record invoices received, prepare payment selection reports, print and record checks, prepare, review, and follow up on invoices, and track outstanding accounts.

- Accounts Receivable: issue invoices, follow up on overdue receivables, and manage collections.

- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records in line with recognized accounting principles.

- Record journal entries, perform account reconciliations, prepare trial balances, and maintain general ledgers.

- Prepare standard and custom financial reports, including performance indicators.

- Manage client accounts: deposits, payment recording, and handling client communications.

- Payroll: verify and process payroll for a team of more than 200 employees, including independent contractors.

- Prepare, provide, and explain budget variance reports, when required.

- Prepare mandatory remittances to the Receiver General and other authorities, including GST, QST, and CNESST.

- Prepare annual forms such as T4s, T4As, and Relevé 1s.

- Perform administrative tasks to support management in implementing internal controls, including updating the policies and procedures manual.

- Work with operations to renew annual organizational insurance.

- Make organizational purchases within pre-set budgets.

Profile Sought

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another relevant field.

- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in full-cycle accounting.

- CPA designation is an asset.

- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills; organized and autonomous.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact in a professional and influential manner.

- Ability to adapt and perform in a constantly changing work environment.

- Excellent computer skills and willingness to upgrade as needed.

- Proficient with: Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Online.

- Proficiency in English is desirable.

Working Conditions

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
