This position works 48 hours bi-weekly, a combination of day (7:30am - 3:30pm) and evening (3:30pm - 11:30pm) shifts, including every other weekend. Starting wage $17.50 per hour.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and performs receptionist duties as per Reception Manual. Daily interaction with residents and visitors.
- Monitors door and security camera system, while allowing entry to visitors.
- Welcomes visitors, encourages sign in and out, and directs accordingly.
- Handles resident and guest inquiries about services in a professional and courteous manner, and directs to manager accordingly, if required.
- Acts as first responder to distress calls including emergency pull cord system and wellness checks.
- Answers phone and transfers to appropriate person or records and relays messages.
- Schedules guest suites, guest meal reservations, shuttle bookings and common room bookings according to procedures.
- Records room service orders accurately and provides to kitchen staff in timely manner.
- Receives cash or cheque payments for guest meals, guest suite, additional services, etc., and issues receipt.
- Maintains a clean and tidy reception area at all times.
- Operates standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a computer and photocopier.
- Documents inquiries, incidents, and daily documents accurately.
- Performs receptionist duties that are resident focused while maintaining a home-like environment.
- Attempts to resolve problems in a timely manner, and to the satisfaction of all parties.
- Utilizes professional communication to establish a working relationship with residents, families and co-workers for the purpose of meeting the residents needs, ensuring respect, dignity, individuality of each resident and staff member.
- Communicates in English verbally and in writing to the residents, their families and friends, and Rotary Villas team.
- Always acts respectfully towards co-workers, supports teamwork practices, and maintains positive work relations and communication.
- Protects confidentiality of residents, staff and activities of Rotary Villas at Crocus Gardens
- Participates in continuing education/in-service programs relevant to role, to ensure skills and abilities are maintained and enhanced.
- Performs other related duties as required to assist in the provision of quality services to the residents of Rotary Villas at Crocus Gardens
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Possesses a high school diploma (Grade 12).
- A current and clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Check.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification required or must be willing to obtain upon hire.
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
- Possesses excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Physical and mental health to meet position demands.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Customer-focused attitude.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Genuine interest in and concern for residents.
- Must have good attendance in present position.
- Demonstrated ability to verbally communicate in English.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Demonstrated basic phone and cash handling skills.
Preferred:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the provision of reception/customer service.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare setting providing resident assistance (resident assistant, healthcare aide, sitter etc.).
