Join MT Services as a Legal Assistant specializing in Patents to back McCarthy Tétrault's Intellectual Property team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This full-time position involves essential skills in patent document preparation and filing.
This permanent role requires a strong foundation in Intellectual Property with at least five years of relevant experience. As part of the team, you will manage patent and trademark applications, oversee deadlines, and handle correspondence efficiently to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
• File patent and trademark applications with CIPO and USPTO
• Oversee deadlines and docket management for the Senior Partner
• Draft correspondence and manage electronic client files
• Liaise with foreign patent offices when required
• Assist in invoice processing and team training efforts
Requirements:
• 5+ years as a Legal Assistant in Intellectual Property
• Legal Assistant diploma or equivalent certification
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High discretion when handling sensitive information
