Position Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist of Women's Health Clinic has overall responsibility for the implementation of the Abortion medical protocols and patient care. This person will work alongside our Medical Director to oversee all phases of medical services at our Clinic including the Procedure Room, the Recovery Room, the Lab and Ultrasound. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be a key component of our management team and will work with the Program Director and the Manager of Health Services to ensure that we provide the highest standards of patient care in a safe and respectful environment.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills and be able to work to strict deadlines while contributing to a professional working environment.
Candidates must have:
1. Master's degree in Nursing and proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in clinical supervision.
3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
4. 2 years' experience in program, procedure and systems development and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5. Minimum of 2 years' experience in direct supervision of staff preferably in a unionized setting.
6. Experience in group facilitation, public speaking and health education.
7. Demonstrated computer proficiency.
8. MUST be legally able to work in Canada.
9. Satisfactory Criminal Record check and Child Abuse Registry check.
Assets:
1. Experience working in an abortion program.
2. Knowledge of barriers that impact IBPOC & 2SLGBTQIA communities accessing health care.
3. Commitment to anti-oppression, anti-racism work practices.
4. Experience providing medication abortions.
5. Proficiency in both official languages or other language(s).
