We are currently seeking an experienced Twin-Steer Dump Truck Driver to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to impactful projects across the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate a twin-steer dump truck with 18-speed manual transmission to transport materials safely and efficiently
- Drive on assigned routes in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment
- Safely move equipment using a tag trailer within HRM and throughout the province
- Operate under varying traffic, road, and weather conditions
- Maintain communication with dispatch, team members, and supervisors
- Report any mechanical issues, delays, or hazards promptly
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to site protocols
Job Requirements
Language: English
Education: Diploma or apprentice training of 6 months to 2 years
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating dump trucks with an 18-speed transmission
- Experience moving equipment with tag trailers is required
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Safety certifications such as WHMIS or First Aid are considered assets
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
- Strong awareness of road safety and vehicle operation best practices
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with team members
- Proactive and adaptable with a strong work ethic
