Position Title: MentorAbility Hub Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director

Probationary Period: 90 days

Purpose of the Position CCI Inc is the Manitoba provincial Hub for the MentorAbility project, which is coordinated nationally by the Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE). This initiative is built on a supported employment foundation that promotes the recruitment, employment, and retention of people experiencing disability. The initiative provides and celebrates in-person and virtual mentoring experiences, networking and learning events, social media campaigns, as well as building a body of evidence through research activities. With a specific focus on facilitating unique, short-term (from 1 hour to 1 day) mentoring opportunities between employers and people experiencing a disability, this initiative is part of a national effort to promote the employment of Canadians experiencing disability.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop, plan and implement activities to meet the Manitoba project outputs and outcomes, including managing financial performance and securing activities and financial timely reporting.

- Build employer awareness related to inclusive employment; build employer capacity to hire and integrate persons with disabilities; and facilitate connections between employers and jobseekers with disabilities through MentorAbility activities, events and mentoring matches in your province/territory.

- Accurately report on detailed activities, performance, outputs and outcomes using the MentorAbility systems and processes, and in accordance with established timelines.

- Oversee and manage the use of project funds in accordance with budget and cash flow projections. Coordinate with the Hub’s financial prime to secure accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Coordinate the successful delivery of the MentorAbility project in Brandon and the Westman region, including securing the active engagement of employment service providers and employer organizations.

- Develop strategic relationships with key Manitoba organizations to raise awareness and increase adoption of the MentorAbility project and its offerings. Lead the orientation, training and support for new stakeholders.

- Work closely with the CCI Executive Director, Project Director, National Hub Coordinator and other key stakeholders to further strengthen and amplify the work being undertaken in your province/territory.

- Actively participate in national MentorAbility meetings and activities. Collaborate with and contribute to strengthening the national MentorAbility network by sharing learnings, best practices, updates, etc.

- Grow and strengthen our network by developing relationships, communicating consistently and sustaining collaborative efforts with project stakeholders, including the National MentorAbility team, other Provincial/Territorial Hubs, employers, clients, and disability employment service providers.

- Report on and maintain accurate and up to date documentation of stakeholder engagement and participation in MentorAbility activities.

- Engage in collective problem-solving and strategic planning for the successful implementation and growth of MentorAbility across the country.

- Participate in professional development activities as required by Career Connections Inc. and CASE, including attending conferences and webinars, on-line courses and certificate programs, etc.

- Ensure cohesion of the MentorAbility brand and values across all activities and communications.

Qualifications & Competencies

- Post Secondary Education combined with experience in a related position. A combination of education, training and several years experience may be acceptable.

- 3+ years experience coordinating projects and community engagement is an asset.

- Strong digital literacy skills, including ability to learn new software and to effectively communicate across various digital media platforms. Project platforms that require detailed knowledge include Microsoft 365, including Teams and SharePoint, Zoom and other communications platforms. Digital literacy skills may be evaluated as part of the interview process.

- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, public speaking, writing skills and media relations ability.

- Strong online/virtual engagement skills, including social media engagement, setting up and hosting online meetings and webinars, chat and instant messaging, etc.

- Proven leadership and management skills.

- Ability to respectfully work with diverse stakeholders in an inclusive manner.

- Knowledge of employment and labour trends, personal and professional development and community engagement approaches.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a local team, as part of a national team, and independently.

- Ability to communicate in French is an asset but not a requirement.

- Previous experience in a mentoring program and working with persons with disabilities is an asset.

- Must have a valid Driver’s licence.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm. 30 minutes unpaid lunch time; 75 hours bi-weekly. Salary: TBD based on candidate’s experience and qualifications. Please note that this is a term position ending on May 31, 2026 with the possibility of extension.
