Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively mentor junior and intermediate staff in project management/task management skills as well as environmental site assessment

• Provide leadership through open and positive communications with all staff

• Participate in all facets of contaminated site projects including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and remediation/reclamation projects, field sampling, and reporting

• Plan, report and track schedules and budget, all as part of project financial management
You'll enjoy a flexible and dynamic work environment, where your success will depend on your collaborative working style, your consultative approach to clients, and your superb technical skills.

Working @ SLR:

We want to be a place where you can experience career growth and satisfaction for many years.

Here's what else you'll enjoy as part of our team:

• Competitive total compensation package including comprehensive benefits, vacation, and a suite of wellness initiatives

• Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement

Qualifications:

• Ideally a minimum of 15 years of experience in contaminated site assessment including preliminary and detailed environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, and remediation/reclamation programs

• Experience working in oil and gas, with an emphasis on upstream clients in northeast BC

• Experience with various contaminants of concern including hydrocarbons and salinity

• Experience with various remedial techniques (e.g. excavation, biological treatment, in-situ treatment/remediation, risk assessment, reclamation)

• Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to subsurface investigations and contaminated sites

• Provide technical leadership through mentoring of staff during project delivery and for other aspects such as Health and Safety, training, and team building

• Experience with complex and varied scientific, planning and engineering assignments and assessments, requiring an understanding of a broad field of science/planning/engineering, and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields

• Able to work independently, including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geological science, or environmental science
