As a valued member of our recreation team, you will assume ultimate responsibility for providing high quality care while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.Available opportunities include: Casual; Day/Evening/Weekend shifts**What you’ll be doing:*** Plan, implement, evaluate, develop and revise both individual and group activation programs based on assessed needs under the guidance of the Supervisor.* Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.* Monitor the behaviour and condition of residents during programs and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.* Maintain program and resident records according to department policy. Communicate participation by residents to registered staff.**What you bring:*** Must have a post-secondary diploma or degree from an accredited community college or university in recreation, leisure or activation studies or therapeutic recreation, OR a degree or diploma in Social Service Worker in Gerontology ; Music Therapy; or Gerontology that includes at least 3 courses in recreation, leisure or therapeutic recreation, or a diploma in kinesiology or other related field.* Experience providing recreation program planning and implementation with seniors with physical and cognitive impairment is considered an asset.* An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.* Demonstration of oral and written communication skills.* Ability to problem solve.* Demonstration of planning and creative abilities.* Membership in Recreation Professionals of Ontario or Therapeutic Recreation Ontario is preferred.**What you’ll get:*** Continuous mentorship, support for life-long learning and growth opportunities* Opportunities for advancement and career growth within the organization* A rewarding and meaningful work experience where you can enrich your life and the lives of others* Robust benefits package.Pine Meadow Nursing Home is a 64-bed rural community home and a provider of care and services for seniors.
