Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst plays a critical role in supporting decision-making processes at Haventree by leveraging data to provide insights and recommendations. This role involves working closely with cross-functional business teams to analyze data and develop insights, recommendations, and reporting to support business goals. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex insights to various stakeholders.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Perform critical analysis to support Haventree Bank's growth initiatives including business development efforts, innovation, and new product launch.
2. Experience in oral and written storytelling to share data-driven insights in a clear, succinct manner.
3. Data analysis and querying large datasets with SQL (e.g. SQL Server, PostgresSQL, Oracle).
4. Data analysis with Python (e.g. Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Jupyter Notebook).
5. Data visualization/dashboarding with Tableau or equivalent.
6. Experience of working with cloud-based data warehouse (e.g. Amazon Redshift).
7. Data analysis and visualization using MS-Excel.
8. Strong partnering approach with a commitment to meeting business partners' unique needs and expectations.
9. Be comfortable learning new applications and processes quickly with minimal direction.
10. Responsible for driving continuous improvement activities for improved operations of the sales unit.
11. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, technology, finance, and treasury.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Financial Services or Mortgage Industry experience (Preferred).
2. Knowledge of Mortgage (Underwriting, Retention, and Servicing) Systems (Preferred).
3. Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field (Mathematics, Engineering, etc.).
4. Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant business analytics experience in financial services.
5. Must have experience in SQL and Python; experience with Amazon Redshift is a plus.
6. Experience working with data visualization tools (Tableau is an asset).
7. Highly motivated team player as well as a strong individual contributor.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
10. Experience with change management processes.
11. A willingness and ability to adapt to a changing environment and responsibilities in a growing company.

Degrees, Diplomas & Certifications:

1. University degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.

Years and Range of Experience Required to Perform the Job:

1. The position requires at least 3 years of technical experience with analytics.
2. Previous experience working with SQL.
3. Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, and can present technical topics to non-technical audiences.
