Overview The Clinical Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (MHRH) is hiring a LOCUM General Obstetrician Gynecologist. MHRH is an acute care facility with a catchment population of approximately 110,000 and includes sub‑acute/restorative care. The hospital has 246 acute care beds, 30 geriatric beds, 10 ICU beds and 7 NICU bassinets. It is an accredited Level 3 Trauma Centre providing coverage in Pediatrics, Geriatrics, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery and Cancer services. The Obstetrics & Gynecology Department serves the City of Medicine Hat and surrounding communities with specialized care in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. The obstetrical services include a Maternal‑Fetal Assessment clinic for high‑risk care and a low‑risk obstetrics program provided by local family physicians. Gynecology services currently include oncology and REI services. Position Details - Position Classification: Short‑term Locum - FTE: 1 - Unit and Program: Obstetrics & Gynecology - Specialty: Obstetrics and Gynecology - Compensation: Physicians are remunerated under an Alternate Payment Plan. On‑Call Stipend: Specialist on Call – Yes. - Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Incentives: Several benefits are available to physicians through the AMA.
