Reporting to the Joinery Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation of new products and assisting with the creation of new CAD and nesting parts for CNC cutting. You will be responsible for communicating the scope of work to all subcontractors.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Creating and completing drawings and CNC files for the manufacturing process.
- Create 3D CAD parts for the library, ensuring all the requirements for library models are fulfilled.
- Create Alpha-cam (CNC Programming Software) parts for the library, ensuring all the requirements for library models are fulfilled.
- CNC Programming.
- Compile or update all technical documentation as delegated by the Manufacturing Engineer, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Technical Bulletins.
- Update the status of Engineering Change Requests (E.C.R.) for which the incumbent is responsible, provide feedback to the Lead Engineer or relevant parties on progress, and manage the implementation of changes stemming from the ECR.
- Complete critical quality checks during new part prototyping.
- Create and draw jigs for manufacturing purposes.
- Managing and loading of documents and quotes onto Flowcentric.
- Assisting contractors on building requirements and communicating the scope of work to contractors.
- Ensuring all administrative documentation associated with the functioning of the Manufacturing Engineering is completed. These include but are not limited to DVO, BOM, BCR, TQR.
- Ensure that all changes are updated on the trackers given by the lead engineers.
- Provide support to production during prototyping and ECR implementation.
- Support engineers by providing technical input.
- Support Project Management by providing constant feedback on the status of work for new projects. This includes, but is not limited to drawings, CNC files, BOM packs, and quality checks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum: NQF Level 5 (Certificate) qualification in draughting or related field.
- Ideal: National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Engineering or related field;
- Experience: At least 1-3 years relevant experience in engineering.
- Working knowledge of draughting (Mechanical) and nesting software.
- Working knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel).
- A good understanding of basic mathematics.
- Engineering experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent knowledge of Solidworks (2014 upwards) and a working knowledge of AutoCAD / Draftsight (2010 upwards). A good knowledge of MS Office Programs.
- A basic knowledge of composites and deck gear.
