Title: Data Lead, EDM
Rate: $85 CAD
We are seeking a Data Lead for our Enterprise Data Management team to guide data migration and master data management activities across major transformation programs. The successful candidate will apply proven migration and MDM practices to deliver projects with quality, efficiency, and predictable timelines.
You will take ownership of data migration planning, MDM deliverables, and coordination across technical and business teams. This role is well suited to someone who thrives in fast changing environments, can manage multiple workstreams, and enjoys solving complex challenges through structured thinking and collaboration.
Examples of current projects
Marine Program: Migration and conversion from mainframe and cloud based finance systems to SAP S/4HANA.
S/4 Global Roll Out: Migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA and Salesforce for the EMEA region.
Key responsibilities
• Analyze data sources and requirements and develop end to end migration and MDM plans.
• Represent the data team in programs, lead stakeholder engagement, and run workshops to design workflows, mappings, and transformation logic.
• Ensure alignment with business needs, technical specifications, and approved migration methodologies.
• Build and execute integrated migration test plans and manage remediation.
• Work with project managers, business partners, data stewards, functional teams, and integration teams to ensure smooth migration and on time delivery.
• Guide the migration team on methodology, best practices, and code review, while managing milestones and deliverables.
• Design, implement, and support robust migration strategies and solutions.
• Support requirements definition, estimation, development, and delivery of scalable and repeatable migration projects.
• Contribute to data management best practices and continuous improvement.
Required experience and skills
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in MDM, data migration, or ETL development, with team leadership responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience in ETL based migrations, including extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, validation, and remediation across multiple legacy systems.
• Fluent in writing, executing, and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Demonstrated ability to drive alignment and delivery across PMO, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of migration strategies, validation strategies, and mock runs.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear instructions for data engineers.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills, motivation, and comfort with multiple challenging projects.
• Ability to self organize and prioritize in the presence of conflicting deadlines.
• Curiosity for new technologies and continuous improvement.
• Experience working in large enterprises with more than 10000 employees.
• English or bilingual.
Assets
• Experience in manufacturing, transportation, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
• Experience in global multi site organizations.
