Shape safety and community well-being as the Fire Chief & Community Emergency Management Coordinator with the Township of Muskoka Lakes. Lead fire operations and emergency response initiatives in a collaborative environment.
In this senior leadership role, you will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and oversee the Fire Department's operations, policy development, and budget management. Candidates must possess strong firefighting and emergency management qualifications, with a minimum of five years experience in a leadership position. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with fire safety regulations while fostering community relations.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform statutory duties under the Fire Prevention and Protection Act
• Respond to emergencies with strategic direction and command
• Develop and implement department policies and operational guidelines
• Manage Fire Department divisions and lead personnel
• Maintain mutual aid agreements with neighboring municipalities
Requirements:
• University degree or relevant experience in emergency services
• Five years in a leadership role, preferably in fire services
• Must have CEMC certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong skills in technology, communication, and analytics
• Valid Ontario DZ driver’s license and clean criminal record check Drive fire safety and community emergency management while enhancing public trust in the Township of Muskoka Lakes.
