Medical Laboratory Assistant

This role is part of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics (LMPMG), which is committed to enhancing patient care through high-quality laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory procedures and related clerical duties, including blood and specimen collection, sample preparation, distribution, and storage.
  • Conduct urinalysis using colour-coded dipsticks and perform Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing as required.
  • Travel between multiple sites may be necessary, requiring transportation arrangements that meet operational requirements.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 diploma and completion of a recognized Laboratory Assistant training program.
  • One year of recent experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Vehicle Licence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, operate related equipment, and deal with others professionally.
