Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to oversee the development and implementation of pricing strategies for both the Retail and Food Service channels. This includes working collaboratively with marketing, sales, and finance teams to ensure pricing decisions align with overall business objectives and support revenue growth. Additional duties involve negotiating price changes with clients and customers, validating price increases from clients, proactively assessing the commodity market, and tracking key industry commodities to identify potential future changes in SKU pricing. Essential Functions
- Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
- Provide Leadership in executing pricing policy including price changes.
- Develop and create pricing reports that provide insights into price optimization.
- Responsible for quantifying the impact of price changes and implementing it in SAP by customer, price type, and channel.
- Validate cost changes from clients by building price models in Mintec.
- Collaborate with BDMs and client partners to understand raw material mix and variable/fixed cost rates for brands and individual SKUs.
- Lead client negotiations when price changes are unwarranted.
- Coordinate price increases including monthly summation for sales and marketing teams.
- Work with sales teams to provide key insight as well as understanding of markets and reasoning behind price adjustments to the market.
- Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders when required (internal and external sales and customer teams).
- Input cost change data into SAP system.
- Track currency daily to understand/predict future foreign exchange rates that could result in future increases.
- Track key commodities monthly in the industry to have a baseline for future marketplace growth/increases (identifying/highlighting for BDM teams and clients).
- Work on closing cost gaps from prior year increases that have yet to be accepted or inputted by customers.
- Maintain good attendance, safe work practices and safeguards of confidential company information.
- Other duties and special projects as requested.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
- Bachelor's Degree or College diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related program.
- 2 -3 years' experience analyzing, tracking, and reporting on commodities preferred.
- Holistic understanding of the full cycle of business and its impact on profitability.
- Solid understanding of market trading, commodity prices and future trends/insights.
- Familiarity with SAP base system; comfortable navigating and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity in using software to build pricing models and dashboards to tell a story around costing structures (i.e., Mintec).
- Proficiency in MS Office programs with advanced understanding of Excel.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills written and oral; ability to professionally present information to leaders.
- Ability to respond to competing priorities with a strong sense of urgency.
