Test Centre Facilitator

Located in the heart of the Niagara Region – just minutes from one of the world’s most well‑known tourism destinations – Niagara College offers more than 130 innovative programs between our campuses in Welland and Niagara‑on‑the‑Lake. Applications are invited for the regular position of part‑time Test Centre Facilitator, in the Libraries and Learning Commons Department. The starting salary is $26.26 /hr for a 24 hour work week 8 months per year from September to April. Additional hours may be required at peak times during the year such as start or end of term. The position is in‑person and located at the Welland Campus.

Reporting to the Director, Library and Learning Commons, the successful candidate provides testing and assessment services for Niagara College. Testing includes; administering testing for students with Letters of Accommodation (LOA), missed tests, mature student testing, admissions testing, Ministry and third‑party examinations. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the handling of sensitive and confidential materials is in‑line with college policies and the Privacy Act while working within Ministry and testing guidelines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Supports the Test Centre Coordinator with scheduling tests for students and arranging proctor support

- Ensures the environment is conducive to testing by ensuring test security, resolving individual testing software problems, verifying personal identification, correcting data errors, scoring standardized tests, and reporting results to the appropriate department

- Observes examinees simultaneously via video monitoring software to ensure academic integrity and support the health, wellness, and safety of students

- Knowledgeable of the needs of students with disabilities as it relates to testing accommodations and behaviours within the Test Centre and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

- Supports students and implements the Student Code of Conduct appropriately in a high stress environment where students regularly experience heightened behaviours and/or medical symptoms

- Responsible for the efficient and secure handling of examination materials, including collection, storage, duplication, accurate assembly, distribution, return and disposal of all examination packages

- Understands and commits to maintaining appropriate standards of confidentiality and security of materials

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 year diploma or similar, in any field of study

- Minimum 2 years of experience in testing services at an educational institution or private educational consultant firm is required

- Strong computer literacy including understanding of testing and video monitoring software’s

- Understanding of privacy legislation, Ministry guidelines and AODA

- Commitment to confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive materials

- Ability to manage high stress situations with compassion and integrity
