We are looking for a motivated Curriculum Developer to join our Language Team - Hospital Employee Union Language Training Project

DEPARTMENT: Employment, Language, and Social Enterprise

POSITION FUNCTION:

- Development of online English language instructional materials specific to the Hospital Employees Union (HEU) Training Course. This course is a fully online English language course, benchmarked at CLB 7-8.
- Work with the team to ensure that learning activity content is targeted to client needs. This includes following curriculum design standards, consistency with existing CLB 5-6 course, and incorporating feedback from Focus Groups, current students, and HEU leadership.
- Follow best practices of online learning development to ensure that all activities are learner-centred, engaging, CLB aligned, and relevant to participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Recognized undergraduate degree and a TESL Canada recognized TESL certificate or a clearly documented equivalent.
- At least two years of experience teaching ESL to adults.
- Experience developing engaging, learner-centred online language learning activities in Moodle.
- Knowledge of online teaching and learning and Moodle course design.
- Working knowledge of Canadian Language Benchmarks, and Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA).
- Competent degree of computer literacy using e-mail, word processing programs, and learner management systems.
- A current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.

COMPENSATION: $31.26 - $34.56 per hour

HOURS: 10 hours per week. This is a fixed-term contract from April 1 - June 27, 2025.

BENEFITS: A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
