Our Moving Vessel Profiler Business Unit is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Co-op to join our team. This role is ideal for an engineering student looking to gain valuable experience in manufacturing systems, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. You/'ll work closely with experienced engineers and production team to support daily operations and strategic projects. The mission of this role is: "Keep Production Ticking" Why AML? As a hi-tech manufacturing business, our technical team includes experts and engineers with experience in the acoustic, mechanical, electrical, software and embedded software domains. We operate from locations at either end of Canada. Your Accountabilities - Execution: Average 5 drawing updates per week - Importance: Track record of success in the short term. - Documentation: Ensures documentation suite for products is alive, effective, and appropriate - Importance: Getting information into the organization & ensuring it/'s accurate. - Technical & Build Support: Last line of defense for technical issues & assembly support. - Importance: To keep production flowing. - Scoping: Ensures ALL engineering activities are scoped to focus on minimum viable deliverable. - Importance: Avoiding scope creep & delivering solutions on-time. - Risk Management: Successfully inventories all major risk items PRIOR to starting engineering work - Importance: Delivering viable solutions on-time. People also describe you as curious, independent, quick-to-learn, coachable, an advocate for your customers, and fun More specifically, your competencies include: - Designer (Co-op): Intermediate mechanical design skills - Delivers Scalability / DFM / Quality, always with AML/'s long-term strategy in mind. Proficiency with Solidworks. - Proficient User: Engineering Software Suite - Knowledge in use of software for document storage (Gdrive), ERP/MRP (Netsuite) & task/project tracking (Jira) - Communicator: Effective & concise. - Ability to tailor language to audience, both high & low level of detail. Bonus Skills - Experience with MatLab, or similar - Experience with LawView - Experience with physics modeling engines, such as COMSOL, or similar - Experience with JIRA - Familiarity with oceanographic applications - Familiarity with PCB manipulation at the component level - Understanding of sensor design #J-18808-Ljbffr
