Pay Grade: The annual salary range is $70,437 - $112,872 (at 100% appointment) and is based on qualifications, experience, and the placement criteria of Article 14 of the NICFA Collective agreement.

Position Summary: North Island College is seeking a regular faculty member to provide instruction for Electrical Apprenticeship programming at our Campbell River Campus. Responsibilities include teaching pre-apprentice students to provincial outcomes and standards, as well as teaching apprentices in technical training classes. Program delivery may involve various degrees of online and face-to-face instruction. Other responsibilities include program development and lesson planning, tool and equipment maintenance, and liaison with regional employers.

The teaching faculty of North Island College are responsible for implementing the College's vision, goals, and objectives as they relate to teaching and learning. Faculty use organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and their knowledge of subject matter, pedagogy, and curricular design. They also serve as role models for students and colleagues.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Instructional: Plan and prepare learning materials; use various approaches to address different learning needs; teach assigned subject areas; direct student learning; communicate learning outcomes; design evaluations; maintain student records.
2. Typical Professional Duties: Work within College policies; contribute to educational plans; advise on inventory needs; assist with health and safety concerns; maintain professional development; participate in College committees.

Required Education & Experience:

- Journeyperson Interprovincial Qualification in Electrical (Red Seal);
- Certificate of Apprenticeship;
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a journeyperson;
- Previous experience instructing electrical foundation and apprenticeship technical training;
- Completion of the Provincial Instructors Diploma program.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Familiarity with Construction Electrician program outlines;
- Experience setting up training programs;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Proficiency with learning technologies;
- Demonstrated instructional abilities;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to work both individually and cooperatively.
