Part of a bigger team

AutoCanada/ACX is the largest Canadian owned and publicly traded automotive dealer group operating in Canada and the US. We are innovative, data-driven and our commitment to our Team Members, customers and operational excellence fuels our success.

Our Team Members are at the heart of our success, building long-lasting, trust-based relationships with customers across Canada. Our national network provides opportunities and support to build the career that’s right for you. Working here is fast-paced, non-stop, and a little unpredictable—and we love it.

The Opportunity

As the Branding Interior Designer, you will lead the translation of ACX’s brand identity into customer-facing and operational environments. You’ll bring creative vision and technical expertise to ensure our spaces not only reflect our brand but also meet functional, construction, and operational requirements.

We have recently rebranded and are seeking a Branding Interior Designer to bridge our Design team and Facilities team. This role will be central to defining, implementing, and maintaining the branding standards that will shape the future of ACX.

This role will collaborate closely with Design to ensure creative consistency, and with Facilities to ensure feasibility and scalability across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, document, and maintain interior branding standards, prototype layouts, and FF&E guidelines for ACX.

- Create scalable design toolkits to ensure brand consistency across new builds, retrofits, and renovations.

- Translate brand and marketing concepts into physical environments, including lobbies, lounges, customer reception, signage, wayfinding, and operational workspaces.

- Coordinate with external consultants and internal teams to develop design concepts and functional layouts, ensuring compliance with national and provincial regulations, including accessibility and environmental health and safety.

- Develop schematic design guidelines and support preparation of design documentation for new builds, retrofits, and renovations.

- Review and provide input on architectural drawings for alignment with design and brand standards.

- Integrate sustainable design practices into facility standards.

- Research, source, and specify finishes, fixtures, lighting, and signage aligned with brand identity and operational needs.

- Conduct site visits (once every 1-3 months) to our 30+ locations across Canada to review brand implementation and maintain consistency across facilities.

- Monitor design trends in retail, hospitality, and automotive spaces to evolve ACX’s customer experience.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.

- Professional certifications (NCIDQ, OAA, ARIDO, or equivalent licenses) strongly preferred.

- 8+ years of professional experience in architecture/interior design, with proven work on multi-location retail, automotive, or hospitality environments. Experience incorporated or automotive environments is an asset.

- Strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, sustainability frameworks and construction processes.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. 3D rendering experience is an asset.

- Strong coordination and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with multiple priorities and stakeholders.

- Strong ability to balance design vision, cost efficiency, and operational functionality.

- Strong visual and verbal communication skills to present concepts clearly to both creative and technical teams.

- Experience with sustainable design practices (LEED, WELL) considered an advantage.

Why Join Us?

- Play a key role in unifying and elevating the space design standards of ACX nationwide.

- Work across multidisciplinary teams and influence design at a national scale.

- Competitive compensation, benefits, and professional development opportunities.

- A role with lasting impact as ACX redefines its brand experience for years to come.

The Perks.

- Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package

- Employee Vehicle Purchase & Service Plans

- Employee and Family Assistance Programs

- Company-wide appreciation events and contests throughout the calendar year

- Professional development and the opportunity to grow your career

And those are just the basics. We strive every day to create a workplace culture that embraces diversity and inclusivity, ensures fairness and equal opportunities, and foster a sense of belonging for all Team Members.
