A Safety Officer is a professional with a minimum of five years' direct field experience in their related field and holds an NCSO Certification. Their primary responsibility is to provide safety leadership for site activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-efficient services to customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide safety leadership and support the health and safety activities of the Company
- Enforce safety programs to prevent unsafe conditions on designated job locations
- Promote, demonstrate, and instill a Company safety culture in all aspects of the business
- Conduct daily inspections and observations of work areas
- Review and provide feedback on hazard assessment and risk assessment documents
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Program requirements
- 5 years of direct field experience in their related field and NCSO Certification
- National Construction Safety Officer Designation (NCSO); WHIMIS 2015; CSTS-09; Valid Driver's license & reliable vehicle
- Craft knowledge in scaffolding, insulation, fireproofing, and painting (preferred) or equivalent plant operations/maintenance experience
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Attend job and safety equipment demonstrations
- Coordinate and participate in testing of the overall Emergency Plan
- Coordinate, prepare, and implement orientation sessions
- Report daily to the Safety Manager / Lead on safety issues and concerns
- Track and maintain site incident trends and statistics
- Completion and submission of incident investigations and reports
