MACHINIST (RED SEAL)

Responsibilities include:

- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings.

- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, setup and repair of machinery.

- Inspect and examine equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.

- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.

- Operate machine tools such as lathes and mills to fabricate parts, tools, fixtures required during overhaul, maintenance or set up of machinery.

- Perform other routine preventative maintenance on machinery.

- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation.

- Work with preventative maintenance programs and keep proper maintenance records.

- Ability to work 8‑hour shifts, five days a week on a two‑week shift rotation, with optional overtime.
