Job Description

What you'll be doing

Working within the Canadian People team, your goal will be to provide consistent and proactive support to SLR's employees across Canada and bring a client-centric mindset to everything you do.

You will be involved in various aspects of human resources, including payroll, HRIS administration, benefits administration, and onboarding support. Strong attention to detail, communication abilities, technological aptitude, and a willingness and desire to pitch in wherever needed will be critical to your success.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include:

1. Support full-cycle payroll including reconciliation, balancing period-end report and annual reporting
2. Accurately process multi-province timesheets on a weekly basis and produce related reports
3. Assist with daily HR operations such as maintaining and updating employee information, policies and procedures, completing employment changes, and compiling reports and spreadsheets
4. Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, and be responsible for answering or directing general everyday employee inquiries
5. Support coordination of benefit enrollments and changes (Health, Dental, RRSP, etc.)
6. Assist with special HR projects and events as they arise

- This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Vancouver office with flexible options. We have a competitive total compensation plan including vacation and benefits.
- The salary range for this position is $58,000-$68,000. Final agreed-upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualifications

1. Post-secondary education in Human Resources
2. 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
3. A demonstrated understanding of provincial employment legislation:
- Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
4. Experience in full cycle, reconciliation, annual reporting and year-end reporting and HR administration
5. Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
6. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
7. High level of confidentiality and ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries.
8. Experience with ADP, Vantagepoint or Workday is an asset
9. Experience working in the environmental services industry is an asset
