We are interested to hear from you if you are an aspiring senior Band 5 looking to specialise in MSK physiotherapy or an MSK experienced Band 6 physiotherapist looking for career progression. Preferably 2 years' MSK experience is desirable. However, less is considered on evidence of skills and capabilities in application.

Main duties of the job

Job Responsibilities

To assess and treat patients with a wide range of conditions, who may have acute, complex and/or persistent presentations, to determine clinical diagnosis and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate physiotherapy programmes and management plans.

To provide self-referral triage, and single point of access/referral triage.

To provide Physiotherapy assessment and treatment in clinics, health centres, GP surgeries and community hospitals, including first point of contact services as appropriate.

To work and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.

To provide specialist therapeutic input in planning, development, and evaluation of clinical services, with responsibility for defined projects.

To provide clinical leadership to junior staff and students within the team, including case load allocation, appraisal, and managerial supervision.

To coach and develop all members of the team using recognised management and training tools and techniques, including the AHPLearning Knowledge and Skills Framework and Personal Development Reviews, to achieve corporate and team objectives.

To support all staff and be responsible for site in manager absence.

We have developed and run a successful web based self referral platform and single point of referral for secondary care, and offer virtual and face to face clinical appointments, exercise classes and 121 rehabilitation.

Person Specification

Personal & People Development

- Health Professions Council registration.
- Ability to supervise and instruct junior staff and students.
- Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Standard computer skills including use of Microsoft and e-mail.
- Effective leadership skills and communication skills
- Membership of an appropriate professional body.
- Current professional student practice placement educator training and associated skills.

Experience

- High level of clinical experience in MSK physiotherapy demonstrating a Health Professions Council registration
- 24 months' post graduate MSK experience as a physiotherapist demonstrating a high level of clinical experience.
- Current professional student practice placement educator training and associated skills.
- Specialist physiotherapy knowledge of musculoskeletal, neurology, orthopaedics and elderly care specialities with skills in linked modalities.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
