The Ministry of Executive Council is responsible for coordinating and supporting the executive arm of government: the Cabinet (also known as Executive Council) and its committees. Executive Council ensures effective strategic planning and coordinated policy development across government, engagement of Albertans and the broader global community, and the promotion of a vibrant and innovative public service. It ensures outcomes are achieved by supporting strategic planning, coordinated policy development and informed decision-making for the Government of Alberta, and helps ministries communicate and engage with Albertans. The Project Coordination Review Team (PCRT) is a centralized branch within Executive Council established under the Expedited 120-Day Approvals Act to support timely, coordinated, and transparent decision-making on major project approvals across the Government of Alberta. PCRT works with ministries, regulatory organizations, municipalities, project proponents, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient project reviews and support achievement of provincial economic and strategic priorities. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Operations, the Executive Director provides strategic leadership for the implementation and operation of the PCRT and the administration of the 120-Day Approvals framework. The position is accountable for establishing and maintaining the governance, operational, policy, stakeholder engagement, and performance management frameworks required to support effective coordination of qualified projects across government. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Executive Director provides strategic advice to senior government officials, leads a multidisciplinary team, oversees organizational resources, and drives continuous improvement to ensure project review processes support effective decision-making, investor confidence, and achievement of government priorities. Qualifications As the successful candidate your background includes extensive related senior management experience in a large organization with a depth of experience in complex policy initiatives. You possess demonstrated success in formulating new policies, regulations and programs and legislative review. You will be able to demonstrate a depth of experience in executing complex programs effectively, while anticipating risks, responding to changing conditions and maintaining momentum toward objectives. You are known for your critical thinking skills, ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups to achieve innovative outcomes. Key strengths include the ability to articulate a strong vision and build an organizational culture embracing strong relationships with stakeholders, business acumen and solution focused. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. $5,896.65
