About the Role The Director, Recreation and Facility Programs provides strategic management and leadership for SFU Recreation and Facility Programs and Services. The incumbent will work in partnership with the Athletic Director and Executive Director of the Athletics and Recreation Department. This new strategic position will oversee the portfolio’s operations, business development, community outreach, human resources and budgets. The role will develop and execute the overall business strategy for the Department and contribute to the development and execution of Recreation and Facilities department-wide strategic priorities. Maximizing participation opportunities for students, mutually beneficial partnerships with staff and faculty and revenue generating programs and services. Full Job Description Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Recreation Facilities Management, - Recreation Program Development or a relevant discipline and seven years of related management experience in a complex environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. - Demonstrated experience developing high return on investment recreation and facilities programs and services. - Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience of the fundamentals of strategic planning. - Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills and decision-making skills. - Excellent team leadership, supervisory, and coaching skills.
