POSITION SUMMARY

This position is for a senior intelligence role in Canada, serving as an analyst and liaison for external intelligence relationships with the public sector. The Intelligence Manager (Canada) will report directly to the Chief Intelligence Officer. The FS-ISAC shares threat and vulnerability information, conducts coordinated exercises, manages rapid response communications for both cyber and physical events, conducts education and training programs, and fosters collaboration with other key industries and the public sector.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for overseeing and enabling the intelligence sharing and intelligence member community in Canada.
2. Conduct cyber threat intelligence research and analysis aligned with established analytic tradecraft techniques and writing standards.
3. Produce finished strategic intelligence analysis reports aligned with established analytic tradecraft techniques and writing standards.
4. Implement the strategies and goals defined by the FS-ISAC intelligence department to provide a vital intelligence function for local members in Canada.
5. Maintain workflows and processes for intelligence gathering, assessment and dissemination, acting as a gatekeeper for the local information sharing.
6. Engage with the FS-ISAC global intelligence team to work on cross-regional threats and engagements.
7. Participate in continuous cyber security skills development/training.
8. Collaborate with other team members to use their ability, expertise and skills for specific tasks and projects, identify opportunities to involve teammates to develop collective skills and capabilities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

1. Able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify Intelligence needs, determine sector specific impact from findings, and present those findings in a clear and concise manner.
2. Self-motivated, responsible and disciplined, able to work as part of a virtual and global team, able to prioritize effectively, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and consistently turn in high-quality work.
3. Think critically and independently to identify potential threats to the sector, to research the nature of the threats and to effectively communicate information concerning the threats to a large and diverse audience.
4. Effective oral and written communications skills in English, with the ability to write focused situation reports and briefings quickly, accurately and without substantial supervision or editing.
5. Possess strong organizational skills able to plan and implement member-wide coordination activities, meetings, web-based seminars and conference calls in advance of threats and other incidents of significance and develop incident response protocols.
6. Familiar with relevant legal and ethical standards for Canada.
7. Familiar with cyber security issues and regulations for Canada.
8. Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
9. Must currently have or be able to obtain a Canadian security clearance.

DESIRABLE BACKGROUND EXPERIENCE

1. Fluency in French highly desirable.
2. Bachelor's degree in applicable field OR 8+ years of experience in information security.
3. One or more relevant certifications: Security+, Network+, CCNA, CISSP, and CEH.
4. 5 to 7 years of work experience in cyber security analysis, incident response, cyber threat intelligence, intelligence analysis, risk analysis.
5. Broad knowledge/experience in cyber security technology, techniques and practices - intrusion monitoring, vulnerability analysis, web application security, incident response, malware analysis, threat research, or intelligence analysis.
6. Working knowledge of the financial or merchant services community, including missions, strengths and weaknesses.
7. Familiarity with global cyber security programs and supporting various organizations, including law enforcement agencies and associations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a hybrid position based in Ottawa, Canada.
