ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Quality Assurance Inspector supports the Remanufacturing and Repair Centre in inspection and reporting requirements to ensure adherence to quality standards.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Complete all quality assurance incoming, in process, incomplete and final inspections required.
2. Ensure all repairs/tasks are done in accordance with specifications using applicable checklists.
3. Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) as required.
4. Complete all necessary inspection reports and documents related to the Quality Management System including the prevention, detection and disposition of non-conforming items.
5. Ensure calibration of measuring and testing equipment is updated as per requirements.
6. Instrumental in setting QA metrics and generating QA documentation.
7. Complete necessary administrative duties associated with the QA program including computer system entries, reporting, and charting.
8. May be required to alter start time or rest days to meet objectives established or required by the Quality Management System.
9. Travel to Cochrane or other ONTC locations to inspect and calibrate equipment.
10. Adhere to policies, standards, and requirements.
11. Adapt to new methods, processes, material and equipment, and all other work generally recognized as QA Inspector work.
12. Follow prescribed safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment.
13. Attend training as required and support on-the-job training for fellow QA inspectors.
14. Current shift schedules: Monday to Thursday 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Work schedules are subject to change based on operational needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Trade Certificate (e.g., electrician, machinist, pipefitter, rail car technician) or Non-Destructive Testing Certificate (e.g., Visual Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing) or Quality Certificate (e.g., Process Quality, Quality Engineering, etc.).
2. Secondary School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED).
3. 3 to 5 years of related work experience including conducting quality assurance inspections, writing reports pertaining to QA inspection, and applying QA inspection techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
4. Minimum 2 years of experience involving inspections focusing on either regulations, standards, metrology, calibrations, or NDT testing.
5. ISO 9001:2015 Awareness Training and/or Internal Audit certification preferred.
6. Understanding of Appearance Approval Report (AAR) requirements an asset.
7. Experience using hand tools and gauges.
8. Blueprint reading an asset.
9. Weld inspection experience is considered an asset.
10. Knowledge of safety codes and has demonstrated ability to work in a safety-conscious manner.
11. Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
12. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
13. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written).
14. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
15. Commitment to health and safety best practices.
