Job Description
Aramark Canada is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to lead a team in food, housekeeping, and resident laundry services. Performs tasks such as hiring, training, coaching and administrative duties for employees and clients and residents. Maintains all records and ensures all audit compliance. Works with no immediate supervision and accomplishes tasks in a fast paced environment following both client and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Operate the foodservices, housekeeping, and resident laundry in a Supportive Living environment
- Organize/delegate preparation and delivery of resident and client catered functions
- Perform/delegate quarterly Food Safe Audit
- Perform/delegate bi annual Resident Satisfaction Survey
- Perform/delegate monthly Housekeeping Audits
- Participate in Resident Association meetings
- Contribute to the Social Club, Total Quality Management, Business Planning, Capital Equipment requirements and recommendations
- Prepare for and participate in PIR audits, Accommodation Standards, Accreditation, and Alberta Facility reviews
- Attend Family Information sessions
- Attend ARAMARK meetings and functions
- Perform/delegate all work in accordance with Client and ARAMARK policies and procedures, including but not limited to, quality assurance items and all Health & Safety initiatives
- Participate in Human Resources functions, including recruiting, training, coaching, scheduling, payroll, and employee performance management
- Maintain/delegate all E4W input
- Organize/delegate regular staff meetings along with manager
- Display polite, spirit-of-service attitude towards customers and co-workers. Maintain friendly, efficient and responsive attitude toward client and client/'s customers/patients while performing job duties
- Investigate resident, family, and employee concerns and complaints with focus on follow up and appropriate resolution
- Investigate/delegate all employee injuries and near misses with focus on recommendations for prevention of future incidents
- Perform all other duties as required

Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, clients, staff, and co-workers.
- Must have the physical capabilities required for light lifting and frequent walking
- In addition, incumbent must be flexible and adapt easily to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment. Must be willing and capable of working in fast paced environment.
- Incumbent must be able to work weekends
- Minimum 2 year College Diploma with a Management, Hotel/Restaurant or Dietetic specialty, or 5 years related experience
- Provincial or other vocational or professional certification or degree:
- Advanced Food Safety Certification
- First Aid Certification an Asset
- Previous Experience Required 2 years minimum experience in a Healthcare environment.
- Special skills/training needed to perform job or operate equipment:
- Word, Office and Excel knowledge is required
Working Conditions
In a Senior Living operation, you are working with senior residents or individuals with physical and mental disabilities / challenges. Individuals who are successful in this environment are folks who have high threshold of patience, ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude and who loves to take care of people. Senior Living operations do not shut down for bad weather conditions, these operations are working 24/7 – 365 days. There is no work from home situations and hence it/'s very important to ensure that folks who are working here are aware that they and their staff need to have appropriate ways of getting to / from work & occasionally alternative options.
