3. Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including plans, elevations, sections, and wiring diagrams, to support the implementation and operation of electrical systems. Organize and manage drawing files and project documentation effectively.
4. Coordination: Coordinate with other drafting and design team members, as well as external stakeholders such as architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to integrate electrical designs seamlessly with overall project plans.
5. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of drawings and documentation to identify and resolve discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies. Ensure that drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
6. Software Proficiency: Stay proficient in CAD software tools and related applications, staying up-to-date with the latest features and techniques to enhance productivity and efficiency in drafting and design tasks.
7. Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to clarify design requirements, address technical issues, and provide updates on project progress. Participate in design meetings and reviews as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certificate in drafting, design, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience
- Proficiency in CADD software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit, with a strong understanding of drafting principles and techniques.
- Previous experience in electrical drafting or design, preferably in the transportation or infrastructure sector.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and terminology, including wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, and electrical symbols.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, such as NEC, IEEE, and CSA.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
