Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Education Assistant at Elmer Elson Elementary School, Mayerthorpe, Alberta.

Successful candidate responsibilities:

- Provide support to students in the elementary classroom environment

- Follow the direction of the Inclusive Education Facilitator and classroom teacher

- Implement goals as outlined by the Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Behavioral Specialist

Preference will be given to candidates who:

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents, and staff

- Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teachers and other educational assistants in the classroom/school

- Understand and carry out oral and written direction

- Work independently with minimal instruction

- Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills

- Respect confidentiality

- Practice professionalism with all EEE School students, staff, administration, parents, and community

- Are aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures

- Have experience working with young childrenHave an understanding of the teaching/learning process in an elementary environment

- Have strong interpersonal skills and patience

- Enjoy working in a team environment

Start Date:

- ASAP

Hours:

- 30 hours per week—5 days / 6 hours per day
