An excellent new job opportunity for a committed Scrub Nurse has arisen in a modern and state‑of‑the‑art eye healthcare service based in Truro, Cornwall. You will be working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers and will play a key role in our surgical theatre team.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure patients scheduled for surgery have fully understood potential risks and benefits of treatment.

- Lead the team in completing all Patient Journeys with the utmost care, empathy and service excellence.

- Prepare patient files before the treatment day to minimise complications, cancellations or postponements, recognising patient suitability.

- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to address outstanding issues prior to surgery.

- Discharge patients after surgery with prescribed medication, advice, emergency contact information, and arrange appropriate follow‑up care.

Preferred Skills & Experience

- 12 months post‑registration experience.

- Passion for developing a career in Ophthalmology.

- Ability to absorb and convey highly technical information.

- Adaptable and flexible working approach.

- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills, with keen attention to detail.

- Commitment to confidentiality, integrity and discretion.

Salary & Benefits

Salary up to £35,374 per annum, full‑time 40 hours a week. Day shifts from 7.30am‑5.30pm.

- 25 days holiday (33 days including bank holidays), increasing with length of service.
