Here's how an Integrated Construction Technology Specialist for our Edmonton NAHQ office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

- Adopts, implements, and helps Districts utilize PCL's integrated technologies and PCL's custom-developed tools
- Gathers lessons learned and best practices from Districts and shares these with other Districts to help improve overall PCL processes
- Supports the execution of the corporate Strategic Plan for the ICT department
- Promotes the consistent use of ICT-related processes to project teams
- Shares new technologies with project teams to continue to push the evolution of PCL's innovative use of technology forward
- Connect with District ICT personnel to foster relationships and help support their strategy and technology implementation needs and efforts
- Develops and maintains strong internal customer-focused relationships
- Helps build a culture where Integrated Construction Technology is a solution provider and supports overall profitability culture

Qualifications

- Bachelors' degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, civil, construction)
- 2-4 years of construction-related experience, including 1-2 years of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)-related experience
- Knowledge of the building construction process and various stages of construction
- Experience or exposure to various VC modeling software:

• Experience in and knowledge of Autodesk products – Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, at a minimum

• Awareness of reality capture technologies – laser scanning software and equipment, 360 cameras, UAVs/ drones

• Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools (i.e. Synchro) is preferred

• Exposure to Project Pursuit tools (i.e. Lumion) is preferred

• Exposure to Survey and Layout process is preferred

- Proficiency in other software tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Bluebeam Revu
- Proficient in 3D modeling software and the ability to create content in VDC software
- Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret markups to construction drawings
- Willingness and ability to self-learn and stay current with changing technology
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines
- Ability to travel throughout all districts and regions PCL resides in – United States, Canada, Caribbean, Australia
