Job Title: Senior Civil Estimator — Edmonton, AB | $130K–$150K
Location:
Edmonton, AB Overview: A well-established Western Canada civil contractor is hiring a Senior Estimator to lead the estimating team and partner with senior leadership on bidding strategy and proposal development. Great fit for someone entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, and collaborative, in a company offering strong growth and leadership opportunities. Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating team through the full bid cycle from monitoring bid sites and leads to tender submission
- Oversee detailed cost estimates (labor, materials, overheads) across unit price, lump sum, T&M, and conceptual contracts
- Complete quantity take-offs and review scope for gaps/overlaps before issuing to subcontractors
- Evaluate subcontractor/vendor pricing, qualifications, and market trends
- Assess tender risk/quality before committing to bid; develop mitigation and proposal terms
- Coordinate proposal packages, clarifications, and site visits with stakeholders
- Develop estimating processes/standards; mentor direct reports
- Prepare turnover packages and support project kick-offs Requirements
- 3+ years managing an estimating team for civil scopes; underground utility experience preferred
- Strong RFQ-to-award process experience, negotiation, and plan-reading skills
- Proficient in Excel, MS Project, Adobe
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
