As our Drywall & Insulation Sales Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing competitive, clear, and complete cost estimates for upcoming projects. You'll collaborate with clients, general contractors, and internal teams to ensure our bids are accurate, timely, and aligned with our commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from drawings and job sites
- Use tools such as PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, and Bluebeam
- Identify plan discrepancies and missing info early
- Estimate material, labor, overhead, and subcontractor costs
- Prepare clear, professional bid packages and proposals
- Educate clients on product options and recommend solutions that fit their needs and budget
- Develop project scopes, concept layouts, and estimates for materials and labor
- Prepare and present proposals, then close sales and secure agreements
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth project handoff
- Order products and materials, ensuring timely delivery for installation
Qualifications
- Previous Sales Experience
- Experience in estimating drywall and insulation projects (residential or commercial)
- Familiarity with Canadian building codes, especially in BC
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Skilled in digital takeoff and estimating software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative, detail-driven mindset
- Local knowledge of Nanaimo, Duncan, Courtenay, or the surrounding areas is a plus
