Health, Safety & Environment Lead, Acheson, Alberta with travel across Canada from time to time. Potential to be based out of Ontario.
The ideal candidate will report to the Director of Health, Safety & Environment and have a background in gas and utility works across Canada. A strong process and policy-driven individual would be required.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Support the Pipeline and gas business in the Alberta region.
- Conduct and prepare workplace inspection reports as per client requirements.
- Manage the HSEMS document control system and develop SOPs, JHAs, and PJHAs.
- Ensure management systems meet all certifications and maintain compliance for audits (e.g., Alberta COR Certification & ISO 45001).
- Complete incident investigations per client process requirements.
- Establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise.
- Represent the company and manage client field representatives' expectations.
- Work effectively as a team member, providing support and maintaining communication.
- Build strong relationships internally and externally with clients.
- Facilitate training courses and client orientations as needed.
- Participate in site and client safety meetings.
- Demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and strong communication skills.
- Evaluate and develop health, safety & environment management systems and process improvements.
- Travel across Canada for client meetings, project audits, and training coordination.
- Address corrective actions following audits and investigations.
- Support a proactive Safety Culture.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- CRSP or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of Health & Safety experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act/Codes and relevant regulations (Federal and Provincial).
- Proficiency in Windows applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
