Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring that the highest levels of professional risk management and loss control performance are maintained by managing CEDAs Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. You will provide support for CEDAs 'You See It, You Own It' philosophy and provide internal and external customers with industry leading HSE support.

This position is ideal for someone who has HSE experience in industrial services/maintenance in the oil & gas industry with a working knowledge of related legislation and the ability to interpret the regulations and laws. Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide support for implementing and maintaining CEDAs HSE programs/systems throughout CEDA Region
- Liaison with internal and external customers and third parties, to increase awareness on HSE matters
- Report and conduct incident investigations as per CEDAs Incident Management Practice
- Responsible for ensuring project and business HSE Documentation is being utilized in the field
- Maintain and regularly communicate a region-specific training matrix
- Audit and monitor compliance to CEDAs and customer HSE Management Systems
- Coordinate internal and external HSE audit programs (COR/ISO)
- Ensure quality investigations – help get investigations closed out within the allotted time frame
- Complete hazard IDs ensuring controls are put in place
- Support safety meetings by providing relevant information for use during the meeting and actively participating throughout
- Identify HSE coaching opportunities throughout the organization, offer yourself as a HSE mentor and actively participate in improving CEDAs Culture with leadership and those on the front line
- Perform inspections and field tours in accordance with CEDA/customer expectations
- Support onboarding new hires (HSE documentation, Safety Tickets, SSE Program)
- Manage monthly shop/lay down inspection processes

Role Specifications

- 5-7 years of experience in Health and Safety role
- 1-3 years of experience in a diverse leadership role
- Formal training required; minimum National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or equivalent
- Preferred formal training; HSE diploma or certificate such as:

- Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) certificate or diploma
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation
- Certified Safety Professional designation (CSP)

- Working knowledge of related legislation and the ability to interpret the regulations and laws is required
- Minimum class 5 licence is required
- Frequent travel to site locations is required (at least once a week)
- Must be willing to be on call
- Operational field experience in upstream or downstream oil industry an asset

- Strong time management and organization skills will allow you to prioritize changing work scope and meet multiple deadlines
- Your strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others allow you to gain commitment
- Experience with using the Microsoft Suite and you pick up new computer programs/software quickly
- You are highly motivated and proactive; eagerly accepting new challenges and working under minimal supervision.
