ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is perfect for someone who has good working knowledge of WordPress and Shopify.

As a design and development focused role, your time will be spent designing and building new WordPress & Shopify based websites for small - medium sized businesses.

You’ll be working within our established and experienced team of web developers, leveraging Marwick’s tried and tested web design framework to produce consistent results, delivering projects on time and within budget.

The role will suit someone who can work to a tight creative brief with strong attention to detail.

We typically favor Elementor for a lot of our basic WordPress site builds, but we’re always open to suggestions if you have a preferred stack you’d rather work with.

This role will require only minimal coding and development knowledge, although more experience here is an asset.

Web Design & Development Responsibilities

- Adhere to project timelines and scopes.

- Pay careful attention to all front end changes to ensure smoother and more efficient feedback loops with clients.

- Communicate directly with clients to ensure that you understand their goals and vision with their web project, and execute against it using Marwicks web development framework and processes.

- Design and build websites according to client briefs.

- Work with modern page building tools such as Elementor.

- Run occasional one on one training sessions with clients to help them learn how to update and use their new website.

- Take full ownership and responsibility for new website launches, paying particular attention to maintain any key SEO elements for ranking consistency.

Our tech team is growing, and we are hiring a Digital Marketing Specialist (Web) to join our team in Canada.

Candidates should have 2 years plus of professional experience designing and building WordPress and/or Shopify websites. This could be for clients, personal projects or both.

This position includes working with Account Directors who manage a portfolio of clients. While the Account Directors are in a more client-facing role, the Digital Marketing Specialist (Web) works on the creation and execution of campaigns within the client team.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Our digital marketing specialists are expected to be able to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, and to balance their time and attention accordingly.

You’ll be someone who loves a challenge - the more technical the better

Prior experience would be a distinct advantage, particularly at agency side. However, experience isn’t essential, and many of our successful digital marketing specialists start with us after experimenting with personal sites and projects.

If you’re a good problem solver, have a keen eye for detail and an interest in WordPress and digital marketing, this role is for you.
