Governance Manager
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Governance Manager coordinates and supports the work of the Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) Members of the Annual General Meeting, Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Board Committees, affiliate organizations and managed entities. The work includes detailed planning, project management, financial management, governance training and administration to enable timely and effective decisions during meetings. The Governance Manager also ensures regular governance orientation and training for appropriate individuals and boards, provides advice to the CEO on best practices for conducting meetings, and travels extensively within Nunavut to attend meetings, record resolutions and minutes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support NTI governance bodies and affiliate organizations.
- Plan and manage projects related to governance processes.
- Oversee financial management of governance activities.
- Provide governance training and orientation to staff and board members.
- Advise the CEO on best practices for meetings and governance.
- Travel within Nunavut to attend meetings and record minutes.
Qualifications
- College diploma in office administration or related field.
- Experience working with political boards, recording minutes, and managing financial resources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Adobe software, and iPad.
- Strong initiative, time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication in Inuktut and English.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting salary $118,794.00 per annum (commensurate with experience). Includes comprehensive benefit package with employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance. Housing allowance $35,865.00.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
