**Function**:
The position requires the incumbent to manage the delivery of the assigned portfolio working with GN functional disciplinary support for QA, and contractor’s and consultants for engineering and construction. The Project Manager is ultimately accountable for the delivery of the project(s) within the prescribed KPI’s and adherence to the GN Project Management procedures and practices. Management of funding and forecasting carryovers and cashflows are critical parameters of the environment. Working alongside the GN Planning as well as Operations & Maintenance Departments, securing their buy in at the correct phase of the project life cycle and ensuring the quality of estimates produced to support funding requests.

**Requirements**:
A critical dimension of the position is hands on field construction experience, a minimum of two years’ experience is required with a delivery in the following areas as examples: Effectively monitoring and challenging contractor’s staff on construction sequencing, optimal methodologies for reduced safety exposure and schedule security, early identification of construction risks, gauging the adequacy of schedule resource loadings, conducting constructability and safety walk throughs. A proven track record of project delivery (all phases from initiation to construction, commissioning, and handover) is preferred over knowledge of the PMBOK that is limited to theory.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized Degree in a relevant discipline, an engineering degree would be an asset, a minimum three (3) years of progressively challenging project management experience in either one or a combination of the following segments of industry:

- Linear infrastructure (water & sewer)
- Water Treatment Plants
- Sewage Treatment Plants
- Commercial Buildings having a covered area of more than six thousand square meters or more.
- Petroleum or petrochemical product storage tank farms.
- Oil refinery upgrade/expansion projects.
- General civil works (roads, pavements, foundations etc).

Project Management Professional (from PMI) or Gold Seal Certification (GSC) from Canadian Construction Association would be an asset.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.

Salary range: $105,342 to $119,511 per year, 37.5 hours/week
