Summary of Position:

Capstone Mortgage Services seeks a motivated Mortgage Analyst who, as part of the mortgage brokering/administration team, will provide technical analysis and mortgage underwriting to support the management of our lenders’ proprietary mortgage portfolios. Your training in business/financial analysis, and background in the investment/mortgage industry, will provide the platform for this in-office role as part of a flexible and collaborative mortgage brokerage/administrator team based in Cambridge, Ontario.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide analysis on potential and current mortgages including mortgage underwriting, financial modeling, and comprehensive due diligence reports to support the portfolio of mortgages under administration.

- Underwrite loans on behalf of the lenders’ proprietary mortgage pools.
- Assist with maintaining client contact during the underwriting process.
- Collaborate on structuring mortgage solutions with lenders and mortgage applicants.
- Prepare recommendation reports to lenders for both new and renewal mortgages.
- Prepare financial modeling to support analysis of financing opportunities.
- Manage, maintain, and update due diligence on existing mortgages, including construction advances, workouts, and general risk metrics and analysis on the current portfolios.
- Support data and research needs of the brokerage, including reporting on mortgages, market and economic data.

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:

- Business degree or equivalent training/experience
- Experience in real estate markets, with specific exposure to mortgage underwriting and lending.
- Experience and/or advanced education in financial modeling and financial statement analysis.
- Experience (volunteer or employment) with charities and the charitable sector.
- Experience with mortgage brokering (including mortgage agent/broker license), client relations, and compliance would be an asset.
- Ability to speak and read French would be an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to multi-task while remaining organized.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong judgment & problem-solving skills
- Fully aligned with Capstone’s Biblically directed philosophy and values.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $60,000 - $85,000, with a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including a generous vacation allotment, medical benefits and contributions towards a retirement savings plan. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
