The Opportunity

Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) provide lab services for diagnostic purposes that support clinical care, as well as academic and research needs. The roles of the MLT are to perform analytical analysis and to effectively communicate and collaborate with other IWK departments to ensure effective, efficient, and the highest quality of care. In addition, the MLT ensures laboratory services are managed with the patient's and family needs as a priority. The MLT works within their scope of certified technical knowledge and experience, exhibits leadership, sound professional judgement and initiative, and maintains patient confidentiality.

Hours of Work

.5-hour shifts; Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Your Qualifications

- Graduate from an approved program in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Registered with CSMLS required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure with NSCMLT required.
- A sound knowledge of a minimum of at least six (6) of the functions listed above required.
- Well-developed organizational skills and communication skills required.
- The ability to work in a team environment in addition to independent work is essential.
- Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to ongoing training or professional development.
- Competencies in other languages an asset.
