In Ontario, you must be certified by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) to teach in the province’s publicly funded schools. The Waterloo Region District School Board is seeking applications from the following candidates for the Secondary Occasional Teacher Roster (Grades 9-12): Teachers with an OCT Certificate of Qualification and Registration (CQR) Teachers with an OCT Transitional or Multi-Session Transitional Certificate of Qualification (TCQR or MTCQR) Students currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) program. Required Qualifications In order to be eligible for the Secondary Occasional Teacher Roster: Candidates must have as a minimum, one Intermediate and one Senior Qualification , or will have these qualifications upon graduation from a Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) program. Students in a Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) program must have successfully completed at least two practicum placements and be within 18 months of their expected graduation date. Application Information Application Packages should include: Covering Letter (covering letters may be addressed to Dear Administrator) Resume Practice Teaching Reports or most recent Teacher Performance Appraisal Reference Letters (optional) Only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted. Communication to applicants selected for an interview will be via email. Please ensure your email address on your Apply to Education account is accurate. Human Resources staff will only respond to inquiries from applicants selected for an interview. The Board continues to engage candidates in different methods of interviewing. This may include, but is not limited to, a one-way video interview or a video-conference interview. Specific information regarding the format of the interview will be provided to candidates with the interview invitation. Interviews will be conducted, in part, in French for ALL applicants with French OCT qualifications.
