The Work

As part of a growing and dynamic Commercial Portfolio Management team, the Account Manager is responsible for underwriting renewals, assumptions, and annual reviews relating to all commercial mortgage product types. The Account Manager must adhere to established policies and standards, meeting compliance and control requirements, while providing solutions to clients in a timely manner to achieve service goals and retention targets. Additional credit-related and administrative duties include reporting, pipeline management, and managing relationships with external business partners and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage renewals, assumptions, annual reviews, and ad-hoc requests daily, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines, risk appetite, and procedures. Submit recommendations for approval and ensure all lending criteria, including ROE thresholds, are met.
- Deliver superior customer service daily.
- Communicate effectively with external contacts (partners, brokers, counsel) and internal contacts (management, funders, coordinators) to meet deadlines and maintain service quality.
- Contribute to special projects as assigned.

About You

- Proficient in underwriting, with 3-5 years’ commercial mortgage experience or SFR underwriting experience.
- Knowledge of AML/ATF regulations and legal documentation for commercial real estate across Canada.
- Post-secondary education in business or finance preferred.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial real estate underwriting and financial analysis.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Negotiation skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
