THE ROLEImagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months coordinating fitness equipment and resources for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world As a deployed Equipment and Resources Coordinator, you are not just providing equipment services, but enhancing the morale and welfare of all troops deployed. The Equipment and Resources Coordinator is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player with a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment. The Equipment and Resources Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance and repair of fitness equipment, particularly bicycles. As well, the Equipment and Resources Coordinator will monitor and maintain inventory of sports stores, coordinate the loans of this equipment and reconcile inventories. You will also obtain estimates and prepare purchasing requests for materials and equipment as required. There are many other rewarding job duties that you will be responsible for that play a critical role in the success of the morale and welfare operations. The Equipment and Resources Coordinator plays an important role in in enhancing the morale of CAF and partner nations by assisting with recreational activities and events. Keeping the military energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the difficulties of military operations, and live healthy balanced lives. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity that does not come along oftenQUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses High school diploma AND several years of experience in facilities management or a related field Canadian citizenship Must have a valid Canadian passport Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class G or Class 5) Experience In coordinating the maintenance and repair of facilities and related equipment In monitoring inventory levels In compiling inventory reports In preparing requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment and stock In maintaining stock rotation and disposal In reconciling physical inventories Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership. Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment Security screening Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications Ability to walk and lift, carry, pull/or push heavy itemsLANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS English Essential JOB INFORMATIONPOSITION TYPE Civilian deployment contracts are 6-month terms. Deployment start dates may take place within the next 2 years. Hours of work: Maximum 56 hours per week, which includes weekdays and weekends. BENEFITS Tax free allowance: Possibility of up to $1,756 per month in addition to your salary (allowance rates are based on mission/location/date). Home leave and travel allowance: Possibility of paid leave and travel allowance. Accommodations and meals: Provided for duration of deployment. Health benefits: Drug coverage, travel insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Excursions: Possibility to explore and experience the local culture and environment through activities like excursions off base. LOCATION: Latvia. This will give you an opportunity to learn more about our organization as well as interact with like-minded people that may be deploying with you. Your completion of the training session will be valid for 2 years.
