Manager, Strategic Sourcing - TechnologyThe opportunityThis role represents an exciting opportunity to join and support the procurement team by contributing to the optimization of sourcing strategies and execution of sourcing processes for the enterprise.Who you'll work withYou will work in collaboration with other procurement team members and SMEs to analyze, source, evaluate and select suppliers, managing ongoing relationships and contract management.What you'll doRecommend and execute cost reduction strategies, analyze the current category landscape, conduct market analyses, recommend short-term and long-term sourcing opportunities, lead/facilitate strategic supplier selection to optimize cost, quality, lead-time, service, innovation, risk and value.Responsible for running RFx sourcing events, support the negotiation process of contract pricing, terms and conditions; and facilitate the cross-functional contracting navigation process between SME, Legal, IT Info Security, Privacy Compliance and vendors.Optimize the supply base structure and develop effective relationships with suppliers associated with assigned category portfolio.Optimize and monitor critical metrics to assess and lead supplier performance including performance metrics, vendor risk assessment and mitigation, and improvement initiatives.Develop and maintain necessary tools, templates, processes to support efficient sourcing in procurement and track performance of category portfolio and associated suppliers.Lead cost reduction initiatives in pursuit of total cost of ownership savings and enhanced service levels for the category portfolio.You will focus on executing strategic sourcing initiatives to implementing best practices in the category portfolio.Plan own work to meet given objectives and processes, influence team and peers.Develop and execute on a pipeline of savings opportunities with tracking of realized savingsTrack and report the performance of the category portfolio, as well as manage any modifications to the portfolioSupport ad-hoc transactional, change management and contract management activities as needed.Ensure a collaborative process with all team members.What you'll needBachelor’s degree in Business Management or related discipline preferredRelevant work experience and track record in strategic sourcing of related categoriesStrong knowledge and experience of procurement and strategic sourcing processes and activitiesMinimum 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and management, competitive price analysis, supplier relationship management for category portfolio specialized in TechnologyContractual negotiationProject management capabilityStrong client service orientationStrong problem solving skills, business and financial acumenExcellent capability to negotiate, influence, make recommendations, facilitate decisions and organize work Ability to develop credibility and maintain relationships with all levels of management, business partners and vendorsStrong critical thinking and problem solving skills leading to sound judgments/ decisionsDetail-oriented, self-starter, organizing and change management skillsAbility to multi-task and adapt to a rapidly changing environmentCommunication & Influence - influences and communicates well with a variety of audiences (internal and external)Strong knowledge of Procure to Pay toolsProven ability to act in an ethical and transparent mannerStrong knowledge of Excel and MS Office Suite.#LI-VNWhat we’re offering Pay-for-performance environment that offers competitive salary and incentiveNumerous opportunities for professional growth and developmentComprehensive employer paid benefits coverageRetirement income through a defined benefit pension plan The opportunity to invest back into the fund through our Deferred Incentive ProgramA flexible/hybrid work environment combining in office collaboration and remote workingCompetitive time offOur Flexible Travel Program gives you the option to work abroad in another region/country for up to a month each yearEmployee discount programs including Edvantage and PerkopolisAt Ontario Teachers', diversity is one of our core strengths.
