We are currently hiring Part Time/Full time Days/Evenings Personal Support Workers (PSW) for Community Care shifts in Port Hope/Cobourg and surrounding areas.

Return of Service (ROS): $10,000 to recent PSW graduates in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work full-time in a long-term care home or within the community.

Qualifications accepted to work as a PSW:

- Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW).
- RN or RPN.
- Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed).
- Home Support Level 2 or level 3 from a recognized curriculum.
- Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate.
- Foreign trained healthcare professional – Nurse.

Requirements:

- A valid driver's license and vehicle to use for work daily is required.
- Meet Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB, Tetanus and Covid.
- Current vulnerable sector check (VSC).
- Current Standard CPR level C certificate.
- Availability to work days or evenings and every other weekend.
- This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.

To be eligible for the PSW ROS, a Personal Support Worker must:

- Successfully completed an Ontario PSW training program on or after April 1, 2023, at a public-assisted college, private career college, district school board or Indigenous Institute that meets the 2022 program standard established by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
- Begin employment with a participating employer between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2026; and
- Commit to 12 months of employment at a full-time work schedule.
