Join the Ontario Science Centre (OSC) in developing and delivering new science programs that engage students and teachers and deepen relationships with communities, school boards and other educational partners. About the job As a Science Educator (Seasonal), you will: • work with Science Educators to research, develop and deliver new virtual and in-person curriculum-linked programs • pilot new approaches to in-school program delivery in the Greater Toronto Area • build new relationships with schools, schools boards and educators across Ontario • develop teacher resources to support STEM learning from Kindergarten to Grade 12 Note: The number of positions to be filled: up to 3. What you bring to the team Mandatory requirements • Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC) is required • must be able to travel to work locations assigned • must be willing to work some weekends, evenings and statutory holidays, when required Presentation and communication skills You have: • experience delivering educational programs virtually and in person in a variety of formats and settings • the ability to gather, share, and build on science content for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 • classroom and audience management skills, and ability to adapt content and strategies for diverse learning styles and interests • familiarity with adult education practices to train other educators and develop professional teaching resources for classroom use • excellent customer service skills, using empathy, diplomacy and discretion to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes Technical skills and knowledge of science You have: • demonstrated advanced knowledge of one or more of: biology, biochemistry, physics, space sciences, chemistry, math, engineering and technology • knowledge of the Ontario science curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 12, and current issues and trends in both the formal and informal education sectors • the ability to develop creative, interactive and inclusive educational programs that model scientific inquiry, engineering design, play-based learning and/or STEM-based approaches to student engagement • excellent research, documentation and clear writing skills Planning and organizational skills You are: • able to prioritize tasks and solve problems to meet deadlines in a fast-moving, complex, and changing work environment • able to work autonomously and able to collaborate on both in-person or virtual, distributed teams • experience with Office 365 tools and applications, AI, and other digital programs used in education and science-specific settings Don't meet every qualification?
